Job Summary
The Program Assistant position is a temporary position to provide support for TF’s Electronic Medical Records and Workflow (EMRW) System project.
The Program Assistant will work under the supervision and guidance of the EMRW System Consultant, and will help develop a standard set of patient data records and medical workflows for TF’s partners in Peru and Argentina.
This position will involve:
- Developing indexes of current and proposed patient data fields, patient data collection forms and patient workflows for each partner site.
- Identifying and indexing duplication and redundancies in patient data collection at each partner site.
- Identifying and indexing commonalities and differences in data collection and workflows among partner sites.
- Identifying and helping to producing reports recommending opportunities for standardization/harmonization in the data collection and workflows among partner sites.
- Translating some of this information into English and Spanish.
This position may also involve:
- Liaising with and information gathering from TF program staff and consultants in Canada, with TF partners staff in Peru and Argentina, and possibly with medical experts at Sick Kids Hospital and other medical and research centers.
- Participating in regular TF program and general staff meetings.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Fluency (written and verbal) in Spanish and English.
- Excellence in written and verbal communication and in working with people from diverse cultures and countries.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently and independently in a small team environment.
- Understanding of international development and global health issues.

Assets
- Post-secondary degree in a field or sector related to international project management, international development, global health or public health.
- Experience in managing international or community development.
- Experience in the provision of medical or public health services.
- Experience in managing and/or developing patient, customer, donor or volunteer records and related workflow management systems.
Start Date: Monday, June 23 to Friday, August 15 (8 weeks)
Depending on his/her skills, effort and enthusiasm, and on the evolving needs of this project, TF may extend this temporary engagement.
Hours: 35 hours/week
Salary: $18/hr
